Scope Of Work
Designing a secluded retreat where architecture becomes an extension of the desert, offering a quiet, immersive experience shaped by wind, sand, and the profound silence of Namibia’s Namib Desert.
Architectural Design
The design introduces low-profile, thermally responsive structures embedded gently into the dune landscape, using passive cooling systems and modular geometries that adapt to harsh desert conditions while framing uninterrupted views of rolling sands, rocky outcrops, and shifting light patterns across the horizon.
Interior Design
The interiors are defined by desert oak wood, rammed earth walls, sandstone surfaces, handwoven Himba-inspired textiles, oxidized metal accents, and soft clay plaster finishes, creating a warm, grounded atmosphere that contrasts with the stark brilliance of the surrounding desert.
Custom Furniture
Each furniture piece is custom-crafted with a focus on resilience and tactile simplicity, integrating local artisan techniques with contemporary ergonomic design and natural material expression inspired by desert life.
Landscape & Outdoor Living
Elevated boardwalks, shaded courtyards, wind-protected terraces, native desert flora, and carefully managed water collection systems are integrated to preserve the fragile ecosystem while extending the living experience into the vast Namib wilderness.
Exhibition Space
A cascading crystal installation composed of frosted, cognac, and clear elements, drawing the eye upward and accentuating the apartment’s impressive ceiling heights.
